If you're interested in what a young woman married off to an older man in the 14th century was expected to do then this is a great read. I found this book a fascinating look into a history of normal people rather than the normal look at history through major events. As a casual reader of medieval history, I delight in books such as this, which I can thumb through and get a sense of what day-to-day life was like all those years ago. Who can resist a recipe that starts out: "Take five hundred walnuts" ?? no reviews | add a review
