I'm surprised to say that I did not like this book by Japin! This book is supposed to be an ironic comedy, but it comes out remarkably bitter and very artificially constructed; all the dialogues literally read like too-long monologues meant for stage productions, points being made over and over again with the main clue being that everyone knows about everything, except they don't know that the others know and still try to keep it a secret.
There's some poetic parts about death and its inevitability, but they too seemed rather artificial and pasted-in.
