An invaluable addition to 'Corviana' ! Superb research and finely written essays on the many and various aspects of Corvo's life, influences and locales. That such an man and such a life should have attracted the attention of perceptive and diligent writers like A J A Symons, Donald Weeks, Miriam Benkowitz and now, Robert Scoble is testimony to the fascination of true genius; the quality of which is often housed in a less than perfect or attractive vessels, nevertheless even pure metals have to undergo their refining in lowly crucibles. Corvo's life of struggle and thwarted ambition reaped precious little benefit for him. One feels that he gloried in his hard-won literary abilities whether utilising them to craft a stinging retort to yet another slight or writing a paragraph of beguiling prose that brings a shiver of joy to the reader.
