This is the story of the two-year sailing cruise of Bill and Betty Whipple from Seattle through the South Pacific, west to Fiji and return. The trip is aboard the Tyee, a 53-foot Spencer ketch with center cockpit built near Vancouver, B.C. Canada. The name is an Indian word given to the strongest and largest spring salmon.
Adventurous destinations on the cruise include The Marquesas, Society Islands, Leeword Group, Rarotonga, Niue, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Taboo and Hawaii.
