The Offensive Catholic. Daniel A. Undem. 2012. The reviewers on Amazon for this book must be friends of the author. The Kindle version of this novel has one misspelled or misused word after another, and while a lot of the tenet of the Catholic faith are presented correctly, there are glaring mistakes that a Protestant wouldn’t catch that will lead to confusion. The narrator quits his job to go to Glacier Farms, a retreat and evangelization center north of St. Paul, Minnesota, to do mission work for a year. He does manual labor on the farm and goes into town to the bar to meet the hostile locals and talk to them about the Catholic faith. It is inconceivable to me that a Catholic author would allow Catholic funeral mass for a non-Catholic. ( )
