Sisters in Bloom is the second book in the Snow Sisters series, This book focuses mainly on Kaylie and Chaz’s relationship. With Kaylie being pregnant the pressure she is putting herself under to find work is depressing her. She is getting angry a lot of the time and taking it out on Chaz. Kaylie also doesn’t want to turn into her mother and wants to keep her career once the baby is born. Will that change? There are a lot of pressures for Chaz too with an ex conquest trying to ruin him. On the other side of the coin Danika and Blake are going very strong. Very in love and it is time for that next step, move in together and maybe get married. Can Danika let herself go with it or will her fretting over her sister ruin everything Danika has for Blake?

I loved that Sisters in Bloom carried on from where Sisters in Love ended. I felt I got to know Kaylie really well, which I was looking forward too since book one was mainly about Danika and the references to Kaylie painted her a quite a wild child. I am glad she has mellowed slightly since being pregnant. I also felt I got to know a few other characters well, Dave’s widow and Randy. There was a little surprise at the end and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Very well written and gripping read from a great author. ( )

I really had a great time with this audiobook! This is the second book in the Snow Sisters trilogy which really would be best when read in order. This book picks up shortly after the events of the previous book and focuses on the same group of characters. I thought that it was kind of fun to watch these two couples move on to the next stage of their relationships. I found this to be a very enjoyable listen.

Kaylie and Chaz are very much in love as they await the birth of their baby. It has taken a lot fo these two to get to this point and they still have a few obstacles to overcome. Kaylie not only has the pregnancy to deal with but she is also finding it to be increasingly difficult to book new performances. Chaz has a few issues to deal with as well including one old flame determined to make things difficult.

I really liked Kaylie and Chaz together. Neither character was perfect but they seemed to fit together very well. I really enjoyed getting to see them learn to open up to each other and be honest. I never doubted how much they cared for each other at any time during the story and it was great to see everything come together. Danika and Blake were also great in this book and I thought that the progression of their romance was equally important to the overall story.

B.J. Harrison did a fantastic job with this story. I thought that he handled all of the different character voices extremely well. I thought that he added a lot of excitement and emotion to the story. I found his voice to be very pleasant and I believe that his narration added to my overall enjoyment of the story.

I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a very well done contemporary romance filled with characters that I cared about. I cannot wait to continue with the series!

I received a copy of this audiobook from the author/publicist. ( )

Sisters in Bloom, the second novel in Melissa Foster's Love in Bloom: Snow Sisters series, is full of drama, misunderstandings and romance. Danica Snow is happy with Blake and her youth center is thriving. Kaylie Snow is in the midst of major turmoil as she prepares for the upcoming birth of her baby.

Danica is at a good place in her life. No longer a therapist, she has accomplished her goal of opening a youth center and her relationship with Blake is flourishing. But as we soon discover, there is still room for improvement in her life. Danica is reluctant to take the next step in her relationship with Blake and she falls back on old defense mechanisms to protect herself.

In the beginning, Kaylie is still the immature, self-centered and irritating character we were introduced to in the first book. And to make matters worse, we (and her poor fiancé Chaz) are subjected to over-the-top hormone induced mood swings. Kaylie's insecurities are at a fever pitch as she faces a career crisis, her unresolved issues stemming from her parents' long ago divorce and her inability to see herself as more than just a pretty face. After her kneejerk reactions cause her to leap to some wildly inaccurate and unsubstantiated conclusions, Kaylie's discussions with Danica force her to face some unpleasant truths and Kaylie finally faces her problems head on. Her character from this point is much more likable and sympathetic.

Kalyie's relationship with Chaz is fraught with tension. Her careening emotions cause her to lash out at Chaz as he tries to help her find viable alternatives for her faltering musical career. When a person from his past re-emerges, Chaz's mishandling of the situation causes tension between the couple. Fortunately their misunderstanding is quickly and easily cleared up and they use the opportunity to strengthen their relationship.

The ending of Sisters in Bloom is a happy one for Danica and Kaylie and their respective partners. It beautifully sets the stage for Sisters in White, the next installment of Melissa Foster's Love in Bloom: Snow Sisters series.

4 "Life Changes" Stars for the story and narration.

In the continuation of the Snow sisters story about navigating love and their careers, in Sisters in Bloom, Ms. Foster delivers another book that is sure to entice women's fiction lovers. Please note though, that this title builds on the story of the Snow sisters that Ms. Foster shared with us in Book 1, Sisters in Love, and therefore should only be listened to after that title in order to understand the entire background.

Whereas Sisters in Love focused on therapist, Danica Snow's and Blake Carter's love life, the primary heroine and hero in Book 2, Sisters in Bloom, is Danica's singer, sister, Kaylie Snow, and her fiance, Chaz Crew. However, for those of you that loved Danica and Blake, do not fret, as they still play a crucial role, and their relationship and the conflicts they must navigate along the way, continue to play a strong secondary role in this book.

Kaylie Snow is used to enjoying life and being the life of the party. Having become comfortable in her role as the more carefree sister and her career as a singer, the impending birth of her first (unplanned) child is causing her to reevaluate her priorities and what she expects from her life. The fact that the clubs who used to book her singing gigs, now also refuse to hire her (both now while pregnant and even more alarming after the baby's arrival) is further complicating Kaylie's ability to process just what her next stage in life will look like. Additionally, having a serious relationship for the first time in her life--one which was precipitated or at least sped along by her unplanned pregnancy--is causing its own strain as Kaylie and Chaz try to settle into a different stage of their relationship.

Further complicating matters is a rather determined ex-hook up of Chaz's who also happens to have a tie-in to his career. As a film festival producer, Chaz has to entertain the festival's sponsors. Unfortunately for Chaz, his old flame is used to getting her way and is determined to have Chaz back in her bed. Furthermore the fact that the old flame also happens to be one of his upcoming film festival's largest sponsors makes her impossible to ignore. Therefore although Chaz is equally committed to seeing her gone, her ability to influence his business is making this a rather delicate situation that requires that he interact with her without falling into her web.

Meanwhile Danica in an effort to support her sister has big news of her own, but doesn't feel like she can move on with her life while her sister is going through such a difficult time.

Will Kaylie be able to sleuth the mystery of her current profession and personal identity crisis? Just what direction will her future career and relationship take? Moreover, will Chaz be able to steer the murky waters created by his former lover and current business partner and remain faithful to Kaylie? Lastly, will Danica be able to comfortably pursue her HEA when her sister's life is in such turmoil?

Surprisingly, for a story based on the lives of sisters, male narrator BJ Harrison manages to render a compelling narration of Sisters in Bloom. Mr. Harrison has a smooth, melodic voice that entrances the listener. Although he doesn't provide a lot of differentiation between his male and female characters, I generally had no trouble following this story, and felt that Mr. Harrison did a good job of maintaining consistency of voices across the two books.

All in all, if you're looking for a story about the quandaries of motherhood, and identity crisis that many of us inevitably go through when we face life changing events in our lives--like the birth of a first child, career changes or struggles, and marriage--Sisters in Bloom is sure to be a story that women fiction lovers can identify with.

Kaylee certainly shines in this segment of the series. We are given much more insight to who really is. With all the events taking place in her life she really comes out with flying colors. There were occasions that her inability to just handle things weakened my faith in her though. A little too much rollercoaster emotion from this character. I loved the sister dynamics that are explored further. Danica still playing a major role as the big sister and the issues with her mother gave a lot honesty to and added much appeal to the story.

3.5 stars
