In a series of short, snippet-filled chapters, David Long takes the reader on a tour of London as seen through a variety of lenses. We are shown the London of spies, lawbreakers, Parliamentarians, gardeners, eccentrics, and even the Royal Family. I particularly enjoyed the chapters on ghosts and on the Royal Family, and the cover is lovely indeed. This is a good book to keep on the bedside table to read in bits and pieces in between larger books. ( )
