This book is very cute. I really enjoyed how the author took such a famous poem, “Night before Christmas,” and incorporated it into a common children’s book series. The illustrations definitely supported the text. As Papa Bear read the poem to his cubs, the illustrations followed along. For example, in the poem when it states, “The children were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of sugarplums danced in their heads,” the picture showed the cubs sleeping away in their beds with dancing plums around them. The main message was also very cute. It explained that although T.V. can be entertaining, ““Sometimes,” said Mama, as they kissed the cubs goodnight, “there’s just nothing like a good book.”” ( )
