A good broad selection of know and lesser known artists from prehistory to contemporary showing a wide variety of illusions. There are usually only one or a few images for each artist, but they are well-reproduced. The text is learned and reasonable perhaps with a bias towards 'gallery-style'.

Running into body painter Emma Hack on page 114 I got the feeling that musician Gotye had rip her off with the 'Somebody That I Used to Know' video. Some web browsing cleared up that Hack was actually involved in the making of the music video. Interesting exposure for contemporary art indeed. ( )
