The designed cover of this book fits the topic superbly. It's those burning flames from behind the title that make it all so real! Great book design. . .

Domestic abuse is not an easy topic to talk about; especially when the one speaking has been the victim. Certainly, it took courage for this author to expose how she was victimized by abuse. And it is through her journey there are lessons to be learnt. It is a good story. However, I feel the author would have given a greater presentation if each individualized character spoken their own words rather than the author telling what was said. Also, it would have helped to be more descriptive in characterization and scene. This way it will allow the reader to be in the moment. Throughout the book, this author does present an array of beautiful and inspiring poems for its readers to embrace. Overall, the author story truly opens your heart as she pours out her life experiences. It's been spoken there are life lessons to be learn; and this is one story that easily helps another. ( )
