The Life and Dysfunction of Nadine Daniels' was my attempt at a romance novel without really having it be romance. There is mystery and something that is not quite romance. I also wanted this to be my attempt at a comedy of errors. To my delight, it turned out to be that way.

It is very fast paced with lots of strong characters. I am often told there are too many characters, to fix that, I have started writing novellas to go with the novel. Nadine's life is such that every time I have tried to pen a new novel, the overflow of characters once again rears its head.

In the years since I have penned this particular novel, I have had people ask if my own life provided me with inspiration into some of the crazier things that happen to her. My original answer was always "no", except her being clumsy. However, since penning "The Dysfunctional Valentine", I have become acutely aware that when one thing goes wrong in my life, several seem to immediately follow it. So maybe there is a bit of me in Nadine.

I had fun with these characters, but I find them hard to write with.

My rating is not based on the quality of the book, but the enjoyment I had with the writing and creation process of these characters. ( )
