Snow White and her sister, Rose Red, have a falling out. Snow so disagrees with what Rose decided to do that she and her cubs are having nothing to do with her. Snow is afraid that Rose’s decision is going to bring great danger to her cubs.

Rose Red has declared herself the be the champion of second chances and is launching a new age of Camelot. As she chooses her knights, she is warned by the Lady of the Lake, that this could very well end up like the first Camelot, destroyed over jealousy and betrayals.

We also get a few other side stories that bring us up to date with some of the characters including a visitation from Boy Blue. It looks like there is going to be trouble between the sisters, and this could well escalate to the point of all the Fables having to choose sides.

I get a strong sense that the series is winding down, but I am sure the author will make the ending memorable. ( )

Still slowly drawing to a close. Bigby's farewell to Blue and Draw was nicely handled. Snow's character is being butchered. Brandish and Spratt/Douglas are still merely plot devices rather than characters with anything resembling depth. Also heavily using a cliché, pointing out it's a cliché and following through on said cliché, still means you're using a cliché. ( )

As Rose Red realizes that she’s the reincarnation of Arthur, and being called to bring Camelot back to the Farm. Cut off from her beloved sister, Snow White, and Snow’s children, due to the events depicted in Fables Vol 19: Snow White, Red does what she can with what she has–setting up a tournament with the Fables interested to find the champions that will sit around the table with her, and finding her equivalent to Guinevere. She works with the Woodsman to build a castle at the Farm, despite the Mayor of Fabletown protests. As Rose preps for war from others, will she expect war from those she loves, like Snow White? Only time will tell, and time is of the essence, as usual, in this world of fairy tale characters, and those from folklore, myth and so much more.
