A must read for every entrepreneur, be him a techie or not. Very good real world practical lessons, mistakes and lot's of success. Great read. ( )

This book provides a series of relatively brief interviews with founders of several well known businesses. It gives a good insight into the mind of a typical entrapreneur. Although all of the stories were unique, there we a few common threads which would serve as good advice for anyone thinging of starting up their own company.

Many of the interviews were fascinating and because of the brevity of the interviews none were really boring. Some of the interviews were with well known personalities that I already had read quite a bit about (e.g. Steve Wozniak of Apple), while others were with people whose public profile was lower , but there company was well known (e.g.Mike Ramsay of TiVo). The later category were really interesting because prior to reading teh book I knew very little about who was behind these companies.

Unfortunately there were a few interviews with people I didn't know from companies I had never heard of. I simply skipped these chapters, but in any case I had 20+ interesting interviews to read which made it well worth while (and maybe some of these companies will make it big in which case I will take down the book from the shelf and read about it ..)

Founders At Work is a book by Jessica Livingston from Y Combinator. It’s a collection of interviews with the founders of some of the most successful and famous technology companies. From Adobe to Blogger, from Yahoo! to 37signals, there are a total of 32 conversations with unquestionable references of the industry.
