Jack and Annie have a magic treehouse and they are sent to special places, while time stands still at their real home. They are hoping to find out a secret of greatness while attending the World Cup of 1970 in Mexico. They meet a friend and hope during the game Pele will reveal the secret, but he doesn't. They think they have failed, but before they know it, they see the ring on fire and realize their new friend has helped them find the secret of greatness. I really enjoyed reading this book, it took me back to a time when I was a child and always played in my own little fantasy world. These kids were living their best life through a fantasy world and they were able to learn a lot about themselves, being kinder and more thoughtful. They also thought that Pele would reveal the secret, but in fact, their new friend helped them figure it out. ( )

My children love the Magic Tree House series. I don't blame them. They're fun books that teach about history, science, and good morals. This story takes the children to the World Cup in Mexico and meet a friend who helps them complete their task. ( )

The unexpected way in which they collected this "secret of greatness" was a great choice to breakup the repetitiveness of the series. ( )

This book is about a brother and sister named Jack and Annie who go complete missions around the world in a magic tree house. This time they travel back to Brazil during the world cup. This book is good for all ages. This book uses descriptive language that makes you feel like you are actually in these places. Genre: Historical Fiction

This book is about two siblings (Jack and Annie) who travel back in time to 1970 and to meet the famous soccer player Pelé. They are sent on a mission for Merlin to find the fourth secret of greatness. This can be used for beginning readers who are starting to read chapter books. This can be used in the classroom to talk about how paying attention to the smallest detail can help you when you least expect it.
