Cradled Darkness is the second of the Gems of the Goddess series. A very worthy sequel to Dual Karma.
Natasha becomes upset when her husband, Hank Krill, doesn't come home, yet again. Her and her husband get into a horrible fight that winds up in a blood bath.
Cadence is getting horrible nightmares of someone burning alive and a little girl crying for help. If that wasn't hard enough on her, earthquakes begin to occur at her beloved Castle Rock. Glenn tries to keep her safe, but all she wants to do is see if she can help find the next demi-god or goddess.
From the start of the book to the very end the reader is drawn in with non-stop action and adventure. ( )

Book description
A little girl was murdered in a rage. Several Earthquakes occurred causing the earth to become off balance. Cadence Maxwell struggles with whether or not her powers are strong enough to handle a wave that is big enough to swallow all of Castle Rock. She also has to find four people like her, according to the Great Spirit, these four people are also elemental and have control of earth, wind, or fire. When Cadence finds out about the family whose little girl was murdered she wonders if one of them could have control over Fire. Will Cadence be able to stop the massive wave or will it kill everyone in Castle Rock as well Cadence?
Mason Krill has just lost her whole family. Her sister is dead. Her mother is catatonic since her sister died. Her brother and father are missing. She struggles with nobody to talk to about her issues day in and day out. Strong secrets are within her family tree. Will she be able to pull what is left of her family together while keeping the family secret?

The cover was inspired by the main character of the book, Mason krill.

The storyline is based off of a ten-minute play written in Creative Writing class. Jessica decided to keep the title of the play for the book version as well.
