A good book on urban lanscape at the provincial rather than inner-city scale, nicely hand-illustrated in the author's style. We were recommended this one by a middle-aged architecture professor, as the best around, and whilst it's hard to source, it's a nice book for casual reference. Nicer still for being pedestrian-focused, unlike some books of the period. This is the full (unconsise) version, not the much later concise edition. ( )
