Even if you accept the premise of the publisher that it is OK to sift through old books of chess puzzles and reprint them at least you would hope that they would be good puzzles. Or interesting. Or have some redeeming feature. But no, nothing. Some of these puzzles will leave you feeling cheated (it doesn't always give answers - it gives solutions like "Other variations are obvious"). And the puzzles are artificial. I want to give it 0 or minus stars but it will look as if I didn't rate it so I am giving it an undeserved half. ( ) no reviews | add a review
It's up to you to determine how to take the King in a given number of moves. Find Pawn, Rook and Pawn, Queen, Queen and Pawn, Bishop and Pawn, and minor piece endings to help you practice for the real thing. You'll be lured into playing games that are full of challenges, and if you're stumped, the solutions appear in the back! No library descriptions found. |
