Still a fun read though ( ) This adventurous book is full of stories within stories. George and Harold are mischievous boys that find themselves fighting the Turbo Toilet 2000 and end up time traveling to save their grades. They end up duplicating themselves, driving their teachers into a crazy home, and having to break out Mr. Krupp, aka Captain Underpants. This high-energy book is full of interactive comic pages, imagination, and adventure. This is my first introduction to the Captain Underpants series. I am always looking for new books that my nephews can read. Well this book is book and I am sure other books in this series would be fine but there were a few issues I had with this book that make me glad I checked it out first. Some of the jokes luckily are above my nephews heads at this moment so they won't get it. Then there was the part where the teachers thought they were dreaming so they stripped down to their underwear. I don't really need my nephews seeing women in their bras and underwear. I know they will see it soon enough but for now I want them to see be boys and just enjoy reading. I can picture them asking me questions about things in this book. Although on the flip side I liked the illustrations. Plus it was kind of like there were several mini stories all rolled into one big story. Another thing is that I was hoping to laugh my butt off reading this book and this did not happen. Yet, I did like this book and would check out more in this series. This is the 11th in the Captain Underpants series by Dav Pilkey, a boy whose teacher once told him he couldn't spend the rest of his life making silly books. Boy, was she wrong! And this may be the silliest yet. It made me laugh out loud several times. I love the dry sense of humor that makes the Captain Underpants series just as enjoyable for middle-aged adults as it is for children. I would recommend this book to everyone who likes to laugh in the face of societal norms and make their own rules. It's hilarious! no reviews | add a review
