Even without knowing the background in its entirety this was still a great quest fantasy story made even better by its humor, wonderful artwork (is it so wrong for me to think that Leon and Riku are just impossibly cute?) and, of course, appearances by a variety of Disney characters that I love. The plot relies heavily on ideals of friendship, loyalty and compassion which I really enjoy as well. There were a couple parts that even had me laughing out loud, such as Donald's "Blizzard" spell and trying to convince Jafar to become a genie ("will I have to go around nearly naked, like you?")
This is certainly one that I enjoyed a lot and is made even better because I can share with my 9 year old son about the story since he read it before I did. (
