Where do I start?

Excuse me for writing this review in English, not in Arabic.

I was intrigued by the title, and the cover. I am trying to read more Arabic books. The problem is that most of the newly released books are mostly about the Lebanese civil war, and/or trashy and merely sexual, which isn't literature to me, it's pornography.

Anyways, I checked the book on Goodreads, didn't read any spoilers, just checked for the genre of the book. I checked the writer's quotes and was deeply moved! And oh happy day, I found the book at the public library. naturally, I borrowed it.

I didn't know what to expect. I was happily surprised by the intimacy of the story. It focuses on one character, Aisha, who is healing herself through writing. How amazing! I personally relate to the whole atmosphere of the book, the ideas, the connotations. I found it amazing and deep and candid/honest.

It is a navigation within the psychology and emotions of 33 years old Aisha. I was absorbed completely into her world. I loved her and hated her sometimes. This book was very deep, written beautifully, without the need to be trashy in any way.

it is one of the best books I have ever read, and I shall read the other works of the writer, she is very talented, interesting, clever, and deep. This is a valuable piece of contemporary Arabic literature, I believe. We should be very proud of such amazing writers :) ( )
