The main premise of this book is the war on drugs, drug lords, corruption and greed. Everyone wants what they cannot have, and they want even more when they are told they cannot have it. The book has thrill, erotica, adventure, and I believe it has the intent to change the reader as a person.

Adair who is an American visiting from South America, who ends up having sex with someone from an influential family who has put a hit on him. He is scheduled to disappear. His miracle is running into a small nearby village who takes him in.

The story bounces around and you are given a peek into everyone's life story based around the plot. The bounce is between characters and even time. The time and character jump can be confusing for readers who aren't paying attention, or don't have attention to detail. Each chapter gives you a quote or a statement of some sort that gets you thinking, and gives you an indication on what is to come in the following chapter.

Leonardo, who is a member of the cartel that is after Adair is a main character that you read about as well. Since each character is highly developed and written with great detail, it was easy to get attached and feel as if you could know and relate to them.

I found the story to be overly detailed, which I never before thought possible. It gives you a great image and helps immensely with the imagination of his life. There just could have been many parts that could have been left out, and it still would have remained a great book. The dialogue was humorous and exciting, just as the characters were.

You can tell the author is serious about his writing and put a lot of attention to detail in all aspects of the book. This should show the reader that the author put a lot of research into finishing this book. I give this book 5/5. ( )
