American girl doll books are perfect for younger students not only because they occasionally come in series but also because they are based off their favorite doll! This book in particular is a mystery book, Kit takes a job from an elderly lady to help ends meet for her family, and while she is there she discovers a hidden room. Before she has the chance to write a newspaper article about it her old friend visits, appearing to be in trouble. Kit will have to solve the mystery of the hidden room and get friend to confine in her.
The central message of the book would have to be that it does not matter how hard the tasks (or mystery) may be, the harder you work to find the answer the more successful you will be!. ( )
