George Cornelius Factor known as "GCF" for short, is obsessed and crazy when it comes to fractions. When a new five-ninth fraction trophy goes up for auction, he's the first in line to buy it until the light goes out and mysteriously disappear. Determining to obtain the new five-ninth fraction trophy, he goes on the detective hunt using his reducer to identify the disguise fractions. A wholly humorous book for learning and introducing fractions and simplifying fractions to children.

I find this book to be cute and fun especially incorporating fractions in our everyday life. Additionally, it makes learning fractions easy and enjoyable as this book contains concrete ways to use fraction that are applicable to our life from food like pizza to counting portions of shapes, colors, and lines. All in all, this books is great to use to teach about fractions and how to simplify fractions to their lowest terms. ( )

Stress will be relieved from students when they read this book and realize fractions can be fun! In this modern fantasy, Mr. Factor is on the hunt to solve the mystery of this missing 5/9, but he must use his Reducer to find the fraction. This book is appropriate for intermediate readers. ( )

DECIMALS, FRACTIONS & PERCENTAGES. When a valuable fraction goes missing, George Cornelius Factor (a.k.a. GCF) vows to track it down. Knowing that the villainous Dr. Brok likes to disguise his ill-begotten fractions, GCF invents a Reducer--a tool that strips away the disguise, reducing the fraction and revealing its true form. Equal parts of action and humor add up to a wholly entertaining introduction to simplifying fractions. Ages 9+… (more)
