Uncle Amos writes childrens picture books. The images are bright and clear, with a computer-enhanced feel, perfect for the related videos offered with each book. The reader’s voice is smooth and inviting in the videos too. And here, in Mike and Pinky find a Home, the reader finally gets to see a bright clear image of the uncle reading to them. It’s a fine inviting start to a tale of turtles in and out of their pond.

I read a pre-release version of this book and enjoyed a fun story of two wandering turtles seeking a new home in town when the town overruns their pleasant pond. Familiar things seen through unfamiliar eyes will evoke happy cries of recognition from children. Facial expressions are bright and cheerful. And the ending to this gentle story is a truly enjoyable surprise, with a wise lesson too.

Just scary enough, and just happy enough, this is a fun tale for children to see our effect on the environment, and to learn what matters in a home.

Disclosure: I was given a prerelease copy by the author (pre-final edits) and I offer my honest review. ( )

I am LOVING books by Uncle Amos!
I HIGHLY recommend them!
CUTE! SWEET! FUN!

Mike and Pinky are two little turtles who live in a beautiful place!

They have a pond and a field to play in.

That is until the big machines appeared.

Now they must find a new home..

They walked for a very long time.

They try a dog house...

And a bank elevator...

And a mole hole...

But nothing works out.

Where, oh where, can they live.

Find out in this WONDERFUL story.
DARLING illustrations! ( )
