This website is easy to navigate and organized well--a very cool news website for children. It features kid reporters, homework help, and photos/videos. Definitely a great news resource for kids who have access to the print version or not. Great for reports and current event assignments and for exploring what's going on in the world. ( ) Time for Kids has provided the same quality content for several years now, and continues to be a valuable educational resource for children. Although it has now expanded to both print and digital media, it does not appear to have lost anything in the expansion. They continue to pursue coverage of recent political and cultural events presented in a way efficiently translates a complicated world for children. Time for Kids also utilizes contributions for “Kid Reporters” between the ages of ten and thirteen, that create content ranging from interviews, new movie reviews, and covering major events like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade . Other features include extensive historical and current coverage of countries around the world, exposing children to people and cultures that may be entirely new to them, as well as “Homework Helpers” intended to provide guides on writing papers and creating flashcards. Their website features photos and videos on a variety of topics. Recent entries include a talk with “Lego artist” Nathan Sawaya and a feature on their big-brother publication, Time’s “Best Inventions of 2013.” Hopefully, children exposed to Time for Kids and their Kid Reporters will not feel that quality journalism is dead and may even be inspired to pursue the field themselves. no reviews | add a review
