The series follows the lives of four sisters, each a unique personality. Leah has become the matriarch since her parents died. She carries the entire families problems on her shoulders. Susie is married to an alcoholic, Lydia is a whiner, constantly complaining of phantom illnesses and feeling everyone is against her. Sadie is 18 and has discovered she has breast cancer. The only problem I have with this book is that it jumps back and forth. The authors tells something that happened then goes back to earlier in the day and explains what lead up to the incident. That can be a bit confusing. It's like read the last few pages of a book then going to the beginning. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0983572240, Paperback)

A new trilogy by best-selling author of Amish Christian Romances, Sarah Price, and Helping Hands Press' own Whoopie Pie Pam Jarrell.

Follow the story of four Amish sisters who run Whoopie Pie Place, the best known bakery outside of Berlin, Ohio. Each sister has a secret that influences their lives and, unknowingly, impacts each other. Yet, little by little, the pressure of balancing their responsibilities of their daily lives with their individual secrets becomes harder to manage.

The Divine Secrets of the Whoopie Pie Sisters is a different type of Amish Christian story. By blending the 25 years experience of living among the Amish from Sarah Price with Pamela Jarrell's extensive 15 years experience interacting and befriending the Amish in Berlin, Ohio, Price and Jarrell team up to give the readers a new type of story that focuses not so much on romance but on friendships and the reality of day-to-day life living among the Amish.

This book contains all three of the original “books” plus recipes and hymns from the Ausbund as well as a sneak peek at Whoopie Pie Place, the sequel to this series due out in 2014.
