Este libro es el resultado del proyecto de investigación: “Abstracción formal, lenguaje y experiencia estética: interrelaciones entre arquitectura y vanguardias históricas”, coordinado por Daniele Nunes Caetano de Sá, bajo los auspicios de la Pontificia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (Brasil). La hipótesis unificadora del libro es la de que los procedimientos y procesos de los surrealistas, en particular la posibilidad de autonomía de la experiencia estética para el público y la articulación entre la producción y el activismo político, son agentes válidos para la teoría de la arquitectura y la metrópoli de hoy.
