Another great over sized edition by Fantagraphics. The preface lauds Foster's liberated view of women and how he showed them as empowered in his writings in ways that transcended his times. This was probably tied to his relationship with his wife.

The art work continues to be impressive. No face or expression is exactly the same. The line work is frequently brilliant. The stories are interesting but the parts with the most heart are wry-fully written humor from the young son's perspective. The story of Aleta the returning Queen re-establishing her authority surrounded by plotting political types was probably the most interesting of the several stories threaded thru this volume. If you have previous volumes you should certainly pick this one up as well.
