Do not come looking for substance, but they are truly hilarious comfort reads without a lick of realism. Which was exactly what I needed at the time. This one takes place when the heroine loses her job to a chicken and a nice veterinarian comes to the rescue. Recommended for when you just want to laugh and believe the world is a nice place. ( )This book delivered exactly what I expected. It was a quick, easy read. Evanovich's humorous plots always appeal to me--especially when I am too tired to focus on highly emotional, angst-ridden, and/or cerebral reading. Typical of the Evanovich romance books...cute and humorous. Not as funny as some of the others, but still a few good laughs. Amy has the "Stephanie Plum" feeling of being completely clumsy and accident-prone with trouble following her around...makes for a funny few scenes. A very quick read...short and fun. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I read this. On a road trip I realized I didn't have a book so I picked this up at Wal Mart mostly because of the rooster on the front. It was silly but it managed to get me through a day of waiting. This was just a quick listen (only 4 discs), but it was a cute little romance story, peppered with the quirky humor that Evanovich does so well in her Stephanie Plum series. It falls apart a little at the end, in an “okay, it’s time to wrap this up!” sort of way, but it made me smile as I was listening. no reviews | add a review
