While some of Harvie's references have aged, Evangelism: Doing Justice and Preaching Grace is as relevant and important for today's church as it has ever been. Harvie's insistence on removing Western norms as the standard for evangelism work, as well as seeing sinners as "sinned against", puts so much grace and mercy that should accompany the proclamation of the word.

Conn's experience as a 12-year missionary in South Korea, as well as creating a Center for Urban Theological Studies at Philadelphia at WTS demonstrates not only competency but credibility in his assessment and diagnosis of our current and future evangelical climate. This book is not an ivory tower theory of Reformed idealism but rather a practical outworking of the best parts of the Reformation lived in the hearts, minds, and feet of those who carry good news. Must read. ( )
