I remember reading this in the 80s as a teenager on the heels of "The Late Great Planet Earth" and being hooked by the conspiratorial tone and dire predictions of doom that were certain to transpire by 1989, just as the 70s were certain to be the decade of the rapture & armageddon Lindsey had spieled about in his first speculatively "prophetic" book. It was a good, even fascinating read (for a fourteen year old dweeb hooked on fantasy & science fiction) but in looking back I'm a bit dismayed by Lindsey's repeated false predictions. I think books like this, full of questionable theology and loose prophetical interpretation, do nothing but harm Christian credibility. This is the kind of tripe the National Enquirer would publish.
