Soon to be starting The Eustace Diamonds. I've never read any Trollope before -- my mom says I'm in for a treat. ... of the book. AT does nerve and indignation particularly well (I'm thinking of The Kellys and the O'Kellys as well as The Eustace Diamonds). ... boring. The Prime Minister was even more boring, because the political situation was completely unreal. And I hated The Eustace diamonds. It took me three tries to get through it.
Plantagenet Palliser is just not an interesting character, and I wouldn't recommend the whole Palliser ... ... the first two books of the series. I suppose they come into their own later, but I can't imagine they have a great role in The Eustace Diamonds. And in July...

Bother it, that leaves out poetry ... ... catalog, but only snail-mail order processing; most of their stuff is only in cassette format. I was thinking of ordering The Eustace Diamonds from them (I've rented before, and they're very nice to work with). I have searched and searched, and it seems that Flo's new recording of Armadale ... To be honest, I'm not all that keen on reading the Palliser series. However, I've had a friend recommend I try The Eustace Diamonds as a stand-alone. Would you folks say that's possible without missing much? ... Finn all that much, leafing through the book more than reading in the end (maybe too much politics for me?).
The Eustace Diamonds were more my cup of tea again but now I am afraid that Phineas Redux will be like Phineas Finn again...
So my question is what are your favourites (and ... ... Her? about 2/3 of the way through and skimmed the rest. Wanted to slap the heroine (as did many of the characters). The Eustace Diamonds is sitting on the shelf in a pristine Everyman's Library edition, but besides The Way ... I have The Three Clerks and Orley Farm waiting too.
