This is fun and a bit silly. Allred's art is very distinctive but also very similar to everything else he's ever drawn. Which isn't a bad thing, it just means that Dawn Greenwood looks a lot like Edie Sawyer from X-Statix (or, well, technically X-Force). It also means that it's a style that probably doesn't work for everyone and might be off-putting for some. So, you know, YMMV ( )

Slott and Allred doing a cosmic series, given a Doctor Who sensibility, for Marvel... pretty hard to go wrong with that. One potential negative could end up being that cosmic stories feel disconnected from an ongoing narrative with evolution and change in the story's world(s)... but this collection is too early in the enterprise to let such a thing distract.
The set-up was pure Doctor Who, and Slott doesn't disappoint with his good fortune in getting the reigns on a series he's bound to love, with a great pop artist that does it justice.
It's a little far fetched to see SS taking on a passenger... and the two of them traveling eternity standing (occasionally sitting) on a plank - - but that's comics. ( )
