Laughter on the 23rd Floor is one of Neil Simon's many semi-autobiographical plays, this one inspired by his time working for Sid Caesar.

I loved this show when I first saw it at age ten and didn't understand the references to McCarthy and the black list, just understanding it as a sort of Dick Van Dyke show with cursing. Now I love it even more. In fact, although I may need to give The Odd Couple the benefit of the doubt simply for how many times it has been done in so many different forms, I think it may be Neil Simon's greatest work. ( )
