IT. 1948 di Renato Castelli con Oscar Blando, Luisa Rossi, Liliana Mancini, Francesco Golisano, Gisella Monaldi, Alberto Sordi. Storia di Ciro, Iris e altro ragazzi del popolo nella Roma dell'ultima guerra mondiale. Ciro si mette su una cattiva strada, ma un lutto in famiglia e l'amore energico di Iris lo rimetttono in carreggiata. 1a parte della trilogia della povera gente (proseguita con E' primavera..., 1950 e Due soldi di speranza, 1951). R. Castellani si inserisce nel neorealismo con una commedia di ritmo incalzante e di scanzonata vivacità che nasconde tra le pieghe un'amarezza di fondo, entrando così nel filone che la critica di sinistra del tempo battezzò, con spregiativo sussiego, neorealismo rosa.
