This book explains how the hard work and love of a service dog helps wounded veterans to cope with challenges. Some of the challenges are the result of war, others are as ordinary as companionship. The story is told in the first person, from the dog’s perspective, and gives insight into a veteran’s experiences. Author’s Note.

This book shares what a typical day of being a guide dog is like. This would be a great book to introduce students to service dogs, what they do, and how they impact our community. It also surrounds the topic of "invisible" disability, sharing the conversation about struggles people face despite not having a visible disability. This would be a fitting read for those in kindergarten to early elementary. ( )

This story shows that not only are dogs known as "man's best friend" but they can play a very important part in a person's life.

This is my favorite picture book I have read! It is also a very important book that everyone, no matter the age should read. This book is about Luis who is a disabled vet and his service dog Tuesday. It shows everything Tuesday does to help Luis everyday. It also shows how much love they both have for each other and how much they help each other. This book explains to children that soldiers sometimes need support of service dogs for physical and emotional support. This book really brings to life just how important service dogs are. The pictures are like photos taken with a camera and are very heartwarming. As a adult, after reading this book, I encourage you to research Luis and Tuesday's lives now on the internet, but be prepared for what you learn because it really broke my heart. I can not recommend this book enough! It is both educational and a fun book to read. ( )

This is a look at the life of a service dog. What I really like is that this pup is in service to a vet for PTSD. It covers some of the typical things other service dog books do, as well as looking specifically at veterans. A wonderful and educational story. ( )
