I received a digital copy of this book through Librarything Member Giveaways.
As the description states, this novel follows a boy (turning 14) as he learns about the supernatural aspects of his family. As with many novels of this type, Elijah is a misfit with nearly no friends. He makes mistakes as he comes into his knowledge / power and suffers the resulting consequences. The story is humorous, but also dark. This novel establishes the basis for follow-on novels covering Elijah's rise. I felt like it was a good start, but that it wasn't quite finished. There are some good characters introduced but not really fleshed-out (on both the good and evil sides of the equation). Some of the text is a little rough, and the copy I received needs to be edited for typos and grammatical mistakes. That said, it was a cute story, and I think it could be an interesting series. ( )

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
Meet Elijah Dart who just turned 14 and is told his destiny is to be The Angel of Death. Follow Elijah as he discovers just how problematic that is. He meets a ghost, follows a goblin and gets chased by a Hellhound. Is he ready and willing to fulfill his destiny. You will find out when you read this story. Enjoy ( )

This book is a sweet little short story about a boy named Elijah turning 14 years old and discovering his families ancestral secrets. I found this story keeping my attention and interest, while also leaving me with some questions as well. I feel like I want to say so much, but do not wish to spoil the surprise of this whimsical tale for others. I would recommend this book for the younger generation as well as adults just looking for a cute read. ( )
