My understanding is that this a somewhat fictionalized account and that Motion of Light on Water is more accurate. Still I think this captures the essence of life in Greenwich Village in the late sixties. The book recounts experimentation with drugs, sex, and the arts with the sharp-eyed, adventurous naivete of one of Delany's characters. ( )
