A beautifully photographed and modern vegetarian cookbook packed with more than 200 quick, healthy, and fresh recipes that explore the full breadth of vegetarian ingredients--grains, nuts, seeds, and seasonal vegetables--from Jamie Oliver's London-based food stylist and writer Anna Jones. How we want to eat is changing. More and more people cook without meat several nights a week and are constantly seeking to push the boundaries of their own vegetarian repertoire. At the same time, people want food that is a little lighter, healthier, and easier on our wallets, and that relies less on dairy and gluten. Based on how Anna likes to eat day to day--from a blueberry and amaranth porridge, to a quick autumn root panzanella, to a pistachio and squash galette--A Modern Way to Eat is a cookbook for how we want to eat now.… (more)

I have explored many vegetarian cookbooks. This is the most exciting one I have read in some time. There are some really unusual and delicious smoothie and hummus recipes. These two dishes are pretty common in vegetarian cookbooks, but A Modern Way to Eat has really stepped outside the box to come up with some truly unique ideas. I love the sections on soups and salads where Anna Jones opens to our own creativity. She shows columns and suggest you choose an ingredient from each. She explains what the role the ingredient might have and how to add it to create your own signature dish. I haven't seen anything like this since the Tassajara Cookbook back in the late 70s or early 80s. Lovely presentation. Great illustrations. This book really makes me want to get in the kitchen and cook. Thank you Blogging For Books for giving me a copy in exchange for my honest review. It will be a treasure on my shelves. ( )
