What if you woke up in somebody else’s body? And what if that somebody else were young enough to be your daughter? When a car accident renders Dolores unconscious, she wakes as a teen and struggles to work out which identity is real. True memories blend with false as she faces an unknown father, uncle and friend, then tries to guess what might have happened and where her true children might be.

The blend of teen hormones with adult concerns is intriguing as this story begins, and becomes all the more so as well-timed secrets slowly come to light. The author has a deft touch with the slow reveal, keeping readers guessing at what might really be going on. And there’s a pleasing hint of real romance behind the scenes, untrammeled by hormonal imbalance and surface issues of appearance and control.

Real evil, real magic and real love combine, in well-balanced measures and well-measured revelations, in this tale of intriguing mystery, pleasing characters, and pleasingly different plot. It’s easy to read and hard to put down, good clean fascinating fun.

Disclosure: I was given a free ecopy during the author’s blog tour. ( )
