This book is what they call in the south "slap yo' mama " good! (don't know why mama and slapping her are involved but i hear it a lot)
As you can tell from the title it takes place in TN and involves two well-known families.

I WILL be in line when the movie is made, because J.Kent Preyer has created characters that pop off the page. Your eyes will not be able to gobble up the words fast enough! The storyline is a good one...two families with a not-so-distant past connection, are forced to come together for their sons. I'll leave it at that...

It's a hoot. There are scenes that will make you laugh out loud. And yet.. there is an underlying seriousness, a deeper message about love, really. And family. And what TRULY matters in life.

The Thanksgiving feed the homeless scene? In my mind i was watching a movie.... The Petula character needs the snot slapped outta her but good lord you gotta love her at the same time... ( )

Book description
At last! The Southern romantic comedy we've been waiting for. No one will want to miss the crazy, sinfully funny world called TENNESSEE WILDFLOWERS. Discovering this book is like running into an old friend. Pull up a cozy chair, slip off your shoes and sit a spell. This heavenly Tennessee tale is a perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon with a Mint Julep or a glass of sweet tea.

WARNING: This outlandish, wisecracking novel explores heterosexual and homosexual topics with reckless abandon. Not to say it’s tawdry… but keep those smelling salts within reach!
The Nashville Sun breaks some surprising news about two of Tennessee's most illustrious families. As a result, the governor of Tennessee, JJ Fletcher, and Country-Western superstar, Kitty Stardust, are unwittingly thrown into a media firestorm.

It's a heartwarming comedy in the classic southern tradition of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe and the movie Steel Magnolias.
This southern inspired tale is magical, uplifting and it shines with honesty. The colorful characters are outspoken, passionate, audacious and unforgettable. And get ready to discover the history and grandeur of a one-of-a-kind American treasure; this extraordinary story unfolds in the home of country music: Nashville, Tennessee.

At the heart of the matter is a scandal ripped from the headlines. It lays bare a life-changing choice for JJ Fletcher and Kitty Stardust and asks of them both: How much should a parent sacrifice for the love of their child? Weaved through generations of enchanting characters is an inspiring story that explores the universal need to belong and the transformative power of family, and love.

“Your momma said her favorite thing in the whole world was a wildflower. Nothing brought her more joy than finding a new one, one she had never seen before. She said she felt the same way about people too.” Rattlesnake Calliope (from TENNESSEE WILDFLOWERS)
