This is a truly brilliant series. While the general idea behind it has been done, the storyline is clever and rather original, as well as being a truly fun read and epic adventure. I haven't had the chance to read more, as my library only has the first two books, but I will definitely be seeking out more of the series. ( )

I loved this book, I haven't been able to put the first book review in yet. But this book really was about Call thinking or believing if he really was like the Enemy. He was always comparing himself to the Enemy and thinking he was always two seconds away from getting found out. Especially when things went bad right before he went back to the Magisterium and ran away from his house with his chaos ridden wolf Havoc and hurt his father Alastair. So he turned to his friends Tamara and Aaron. When school started back they had heard someone tried to steal the Alkahest, that's dangerous and could kill the Makar whom is Call's best friend Aaron. Call figured out it was his father that did it and set out but not with out a fight with his friends first. In the end his friends came with him and so did and unlikely person Jasper DeWinter. It was a hard journey to try to find Call's father. There were even ancient elemental Automotone's that were supposedly sent by the madges to kill them. When the unlikely group of Call, Tamara, Aaron and Jasper met a group of chaos people the others found out Call's secret. The secret that could destroy his future at the Magisterium and is relationship with his friends. But Call was still concerned about if he was really going to turn into the enemy. When they caught up to Call's father with the Alkahest with Master Joseph, things went crazy. I can't give any more details because you have to read the book for yourself to find out what happens to Call and his friends. But I promise you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to read the last book in this series of books by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare, The Bronze Key! ( )

Copper Gauntlet is a very good sequel to the Iron Trial. The story continues the story of Call and his friends at the Magisterium. At the beginning of the story, Call is home with his father between years at the Magisterium. Call's father, though never openly affectionate, is now almost openly hostile toward Call. When Call finds the chains in the garage that he believes are meant for him, he knows that it is time to leave home and find somewhere else to stay. Thus begins the second year of adventures for Call and his friends at the Magisterium. I enjoyed the entire story. The only thing missing is some of the atmosphere that were so prevalent in the Harry Potter and Hunger Games series, but the action and fast pace in the story make up for the lack of imagery. I can't wait for the next installment. ( )
