An Imaginary House by the Sea by Cecily Gates

Dawn Campbell had the perfect life, great job, nice apartment, hot boyfriend, then she loses all three and moves back to her home town, Bridgeport. She reconnects with her child hood crush John Brown. Hoping to add some sparks and maybe some romance to their friendship, she finds out he is married. John's life seems perfect, beautiful French wife (Marguerite), two young children, a life Dawn pictured for her and John. Then one day Dawn discovers Marguerites secrets and slowly they become friends.

A well written story of romance, friendship, family and heart ache. A bit of drama and some humor blended to make a perfect (emotional) read. Dawn is a unique person, at times I really liked her at others I did not. But this makes Dawn human, with feelings and a bit flawed. I liked Marquerite, French fashionable and all around nice. John was the "boy next door" type, forever your friend.

I feel that those who love chick-lit/drama/romance/comedy will enjoy An Imaginary House by the Sea. ( )
