A Myth to the Night is a YA book, but in spite of the numerous references to mythical figures ( and you are apparently expected to know the story of each one because little or no background is given), this book doesn't seem to be something that would appeal to that audience. The idea is intriguing, but the plot is glacial. I was well over halfway through it before I became truly interested to see what would happen next. You don't really feel you know or understand any of the main characters. After reading it, I felt that the book had not fulfilled its potential. ( )
