... Woolf? Edward Albee 3.5 stars At first glance the middle aged main characters George and Martha reminded me of The Twits a Roald Dahl classic. Their constant bickering and mean, vindictive mind games made me question their love for each other. In another respect it was as if it ...

There's definately a movie -- just watched it with my boys a few weeks back. We love The Twits. I can't wait to start the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory books. :)

... (not naughty in an adult way!) so might be more interesting for him. Fantastic Mr Fox is another one that I preferred to The Twits (though I loved that too).

Aaaaaaaah, I'm about to give up, whisper. I loved The Twits alas my 9 yr old non reader was slightly intrigued but bored. Sheeeeesh, I don't know what will ever interest him. I'll continue to carry on none the less.

... it (I think it was one of the first Roald Dahl books I read... I'm now having cravings for The Magic Finger and The Twits, which were my favourites at the time, I have a suspicion though, that they probably won't quite live up to my memories... Maybe I'll re-read The BFG instead... ...

message 81 and 84. I'm on a quest to read all of Dahl's books within the next few months. I just finished The Twits and though it is difficult to have a "favorite", this one is at the top most of the list.

I love Roald Dahl. His books were part of my childhood - my personal favourites were The Twits and Fantastic Mr Fox. I read those over and over heh. Important books for all children to have I think - such a sense of fun, yet deeper meanings underlying the silliness. Have you read his Revolt ...

so glad your enjoying Roald Dahl I have read all of his books they just make you smile! I suggest the twits or the BFG next!

... on Whisper's thread but thought I'd add it here too. Definitely for that age range (8-11). Your neice may also like The Twits and George's Marvelous Medicine which are for slightly younger than Matilda so might be a good intro for her. Oh, and The BFG which is my favourite Roald Dahl ...

Roald Dahl is brilliant. I think my favourite of his is The BFG which you HAVE to read. As well as The Twits, The Enormous Crocodile and George's Marvellous Medicine. His children's poetry is also great: Revolting Rhymes, Dirty Beasts and Rhyme Stew. And when you'd have your fill ...

The Twits is not one of Dahl's best, but fun nonetheless, and I always love Quentin Blake's illustrations. Now up is The Book of Laughter and Forgetting by Milan Kundera. And I'm another who had never heard of Native Son. It doesn't sound like a happy read.

... way through The Virgin's Lover by Philippa Gregory on audio, and my 'don't forget the child in me' book is currently The Twits by Roald Dahl.

Book number 16 has been read. Today I read The Twits by Roald Dahl. My review can be found in my library

The Twits was a short little book but was interesting..would def. reccommend it for kids. Also finished Lord of the Flies and it was a great story as I had rememebered. It is sort of funny cause I watch the show Lost, and in the book they talk about 'the others'. 2008 book total: 25 Read ...
