"Kevin Kwan, bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians, is back with a wickedly funny new novel of social climbing, secret e-mails, art-world scandal, lovesick billionaires, and the outrageous story of what happens when Rachel Chu, engaged to marry Asia's most eligible bachelor, discovers her birthfather. Escapist novel that manages to be fun... at times. It has less plot than an average soap opera episode and mostly tries to hold up 300 pages of brand name-dropping. Meh. ( )

These books are wacky and fun. I guess I'd say they are chick lit since they are filled with parties, fashion, shopping, romance, gossip and boys.

Total beach reading kind of book. ( )

3.5 stars. Not as classy as the movies, don't like the crass language so much, but overall a great family drama! ( )
