Elephant and Piggie are always a perennial storytime favorite. I was able to do this book with a long book about patience....and the kids GOT IT! (Or so I like to tell myself)

This book would be good for primary and lower-level intermediate students. This would be great to use to teach patience, as well as teaching about hypothesizing. The story is about how piggie has a birthday present for elephant, but he has to wait all day for it, and it's hard for him to wait. ( )

In this book Piggie tells the Elephant he has a surprise for him, but tells him he'll have to wait. This book shows the importance of being patient and waiting. This book is targeted towards primary grade students. ( )

June 2019 - Waiting is not easy for Elephant and Piggie, but together the two friends are able to wait together and have a wonderful surprise!

Sometimes waiting is hard. Very hard. Even wanting something so much cannot help the waiting or make whatever it is you are waiting come any sooner. I love Elephant and Piggie. Truly, I do. I intend to read this to a few of my friends who may, or may not, have some difficulty in waiting. I will probably read as Gerald and have them read Piggie. I tend to be more dramatic when reading these wonderful stories. ( )
