Easy reading, but asks some deep questions and explores deep topics, mainly what is love and how are we happy? When we have our dream life, are we happy? Very intimate narration, meaning that as reader, I really felt like I was in her head. Yet, strangely, not so much that I was sucked into her vortex. Not everyone can explore the depths the way she does and come out as unscathed as she did. Worthy of a book club study, for sure.
There was a lot of potential to this book. I wasn't looking for another Fifty Shades of Grey but the heroine waxed poetic and seemed to suffer little to no consequences for her actions. Very disappointing ( )
No more Paulo Coelho after that! Apparently, Coelho is someone who writes for the masses. This book is just another manifestation of Brazilian thought that we have been familiar with seeing classic Latin American TV series. ( )
