Finished The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo / Men Who Hate Women and loved it. Can't wait to start the next book, all three are already published in Portugal, on the other hand they are 20 euros each and they aren´t even hardcovers... oh well So I decided to start first with Sacred Hearts by ...

... and Light, another great anne bishop novel and a great fantasy fix and started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or Men Who Hate Women as is in the portuguese and the Swedish. I'm really loving it. It has some of the cliches of the genre, but so far they are not bugging me.

... in the shadows van Lynn Flewelling gelezen. Heerlijk avontuur - ik was er zo doorheen. Nu eindelijk écht bezig in Mannen die vrouwen haten van Stieg Larsson.

46. Mannen die vrouwen haten by Stieg Larsson (originally Swedish, translated in English as The girl with the dragon tattoo) Normally I don't want to follow the hype, but Stieg Larssons books tended to stay in the shops. So at the end I came home with Mannen die vrouwen haten, trilogy ...

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson A real page turner. Will have to read the next book to find out more about Sweden's best computer hacker, the young woman with the photographic memory, Lisbeth Salander. Took off half a star because it's about serial killers. Recommended ...

I loved The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo - one of my favorite reads this year so far. I just started Still Life by Louise Penny and it looks to be another really good one. I am on a good run with the last few mysteries that I have read.

>70 & 71 I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and thought it was wonderful. It's hard for me to believe that the next two can be even better! But I'm just the opposite, RidgewayGirl: I'll read them as soon as I can get my hands on them! Guess I'm not very good at deferred ...

46. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, 5* Category: Contemporary Fiction I loved this book! It has everything: family saga, corporate corruption, mystery, crime, romance. There are numerous plots, mysteries, and story lines, all nicely tied together in an extremely ...

28. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Forgive me for being cynical, but I suspect the reason for this book's popularity is that it's an impeccably liberal version of every 3-inch-thick page-turning airport thriller, with lashings of graphic violence and sex, fiendishly complicated villainy and ...

Welcome! Nice list. Girl with the Dragon Tattoowas one of my faves too!

Thanks. I really enjoyed The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I finished it in a week which is pretty good for me; I have a reputation among my friends for being a slow (which I interpret as careful and considered) reader. It was lent to me by a friend and I'm looking forward to reading The Girl Who ...

Just finished another fantastic book that I probably wouldn't have read if I wasn't doing this challenge. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson really does deserve the praise it's had since it was released. Such a shame the author didn't live long enough to enjoy it's success. ...

I loved The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo when I read it last year.

Started on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. Enjoying the way the story is building.

I finished the superb The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and I am starting April Lady by Georgette Heyer, very light and frothy. Along with that I am also starting A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini with high expections after loving The Kite Runner.

#91 - jbeast - I am about 100 pages into The Girl With The Dragon Tattooand you are right - it has totally grabbed me. I can't wait to find out how all of this is going to fit together! Very good book.

I am just about to start The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson. I have heard some very positive comments about this one so I am looking forward to the read.

30 The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. Very enjoyable, gripping and well-written thriller. The bits about financial journalism dragged a bit, and I perceived it to be slightly predictable. So a 4/5 rather than a 5. Still, would definitely recommend it.

I picked up three at the library today: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson, April Lady by Georgette Heyer, St. Agnes' Stand by Thomas Eidson.

In freezing Norrland, Sweden in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. In the bit I just read the temp was -37 (don't fancy that much).

My five in no particular order: The Girls by Lori Lansens Fingersmith by Sarah Waters The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn The Given Day by Dennis Lehane

I will definitely be adding The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to my TBR list, although I can't read it in the original German :( I'm so impressed, I would love to be able to read in other languages (I can read easier books in Spanish, Harry Potter and poetry). Do you think it's a different ...

... at Border's and now I think I will make it the next mystery I read. It will be a little while, though--I have to finish The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which I got from the library. Art of Death should make a real contrast to that one!

I liked The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo because I thought it was a decent mystery with interesting characters in a setting new to me. Generally, it was fun to read with an author that promises more good material. Does the hype accurately represent the book? Probably not.

... reviews on my most recent reads, I was told there'd be cake (a fun and light reading) and the french translation of The girl with the dragon tattoo. I asked this in my 999 thread but I will ask it here, too: "Why all the hype around this book? It's not that I didn't like it; I really did, ...

I did it! All 688 pages of Verblendung (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) by Stieg Larsson, by far the longest book I've ever read in German. That said, it was riveting. The story concerns a journalist, Mikael Blomquist, (who is a bit of a self-righteous narcissist, but not enough to make ...

I'm starting The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I had not planned to read it until later but there were so many ahead of me on the request list I decided to go ahead and order it--it usually takes two to three months for a popular book to get to me. I don't know what happened, but it came the ...

#125 Book 12. I just picked up Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which I have to read this week because I can't renew it. I'm glad to read your comment because when I checked the review page on LT the reviews were encouraging but the bar I clicked to see if I would like it said "no!" That has ...

#92 - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson - really enjoyable mystery

Moving on.......one foot remains in Sweden with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and I now airlift the other foot from Scotland to England (or should I drive?) and change time periods as I begin The Mysteries of Udolpho by Ann Radcliffe.

Listening to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson which is a bit slow so far. I am reading The Crow Road by Iain Banks and just haven't been able to get a nice stretch of time to settle into it in this past week. Hope it's okay that I started this week's thread! :)

From Audible: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

TadAD - I definitely think that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is worth the read. And I just found out that it is the first of a trilogy - so maybe that explains why I didn't like the ending. I'll be interested to see what you think.

#70 - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson -Finished October 23, 2008 This was an entertaining mystery. Mikael Blomkvist, a financial journalist recently convicted of libel, is hired by Henrik Vanger to investigate the murder of his niece Harriet which occurred almost 40 years ...
