This book is about imagination and how that can turn ordinary objects into magical, exciting fun! This is a good example of fantasy because lollipop soldiers don't exist and they don't protect kids from the dark.

This story was so fun to read, even if it really made me want chocolate!! I loved the illustrations and just how funny the concept was.

If Chocolate Were Purple is a playful book that takes your child's imagination in all sorts of silly ways to imagine how the world could possibly be different.
The easy rhythms and colorful illustrations in this book keep children entertained and giggling. Even though on the surface the book seems silly and fun, the overarching message of the book is that no matter how much things may change, a parent will still love and be there for their child. I think that's an important message I would want to relay to my future children. You never know when life may turn upside down for your family, and having a child know in their heart that no matter what, you will be there for them is invaluable. ( )
